Berlin Cracks Down on Labor Violations at Massive 10,000-Person Event
A large-scale inspection by Berlin customs officials took place at an event venue in Prenzlauer Berg on November 17, 2025. Around 100 officers from the Financial Control for Undeclared Work (FKS) checked staff working at a gathering with nearly 10,000 attendees. The operation also extended to 11 other sites, including emergency shelters.
The inspection focused on security and event personnel, with 156 individuals questioned about their working conditions. Officers examined compliance with minimum wage laws, social security contributions, and the proper employment of foreign workers. They also looked into potential welfare fraud among employees.
The inspections resulted in two criminal cases and a detailed review of employment practices. Authorities verified compliance with wage laws, social security rules, and legal hiring standards. Further action may follow depending on the findings.
