Noise from party boats: only sporadic high fines - Berlin cracks down on noisy party boats disrupting Treptow-Köpenick’s summer peace

Noise from party boats and floating platforms on the Spree River has become a growing problem for Berlin’s Treptow-Köpenick district. Residents report rising disturbances during summer months, prompting local authorities to take action against the issue.

A 2021 survey in Treptow-Köpenick found that 90 percent of respondents were bothered by loud music and inconsiderate behaviour from recreational boats and party vessels. Complaints about noise from party rafts and commercial ships with sound systems have since remained frequent.

The fines and awareness efforts reflect ongoing attempts to curb noise from party boats in Treptow-Köpenick. With complaints continuing, authorities remain under pressure to address the issue and reduce disruptions for local residents.
