Berlin Decks: Sustainable Commercial Hub Nears Completion
The 'Berlin Decks' commercial project in Moabit is nearing completion, with most buildings largely finished externally. The quarter aims to blend historical industrial architecture with modern new buildings, offering spaces for businesses, culture, and gastronomy. The project is being developed by BEOS AG for an investor group and is set to achieve DGNB Gold certification.
Particular care is being taken to incorporate sustainable construction methods. Wooden hybrid constructions, photovoltaic systems, and green roofs are among the eco-friendly features being integrated. Interior fitting-out work is scheduled to begin soon, following the completion of outdoor facilities and access. The project's tenants already include the Mercedes-Benz subsidiary MBition and the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin, with the latter planning to move in by the end of 2025. Upon completion, the quarter will boast spaces for offices, commerce, culture, and gastronomy, with the historic brick building already fully modernized and in use.
The 'Berlin Decks' project in Moabit is expected to transform the area into a vibrant, sustainable hub for businesses and culture. With its focus on sustainability and blend of old and new architecture, it is set to become a prime example of modern urban development.
