Berlin Fire Stations Hit by Brazen Overnight Burglaries
Two volunteer fire stations in Berlin were targeted by burglars in the early hours of March 3, 20XX. Unknown intruders broke into stations in Staaken and Biesdorf, causing damage and stealing equipment. Police have launched separate investigations into both incidents.
The first break-in occurred at the Staaken Volunteer Fire Station on Hackbuschstraße. Firefighters discovered forced-open access doors to two vehicle bays. Inside, intruders had opened unlocked roller shutters on three parked fire support vehicles. Tools, including a hydraulic spreader, were taken from the compartments. The State Criminal Police Office’s serious property crimes unit is now handling the case under Incident No. 0169.
The break-ins disrupted operations at both stations, with Staaken suffering equipment losses. Authorities continue to investigate the crimes, though no arrests have been made. Fire station staff are reviewing security measures in response to the incidents.
