Berlin home invasion foiled as residents chase and confront intruder
A brazen home invasion in Berlin's Schöneberg district yesterday morning ended with the suspect apprehended and injured, following a chase and confrontation with residents. The suspect allegedly gained entry to an apartment via the balcony at around 8:30 a.m. Residents, alerted to the intrusion, confronted the individual, who then fled with stolen items. A pursuit ensued, culminating in the suspect's capture on Ansbacher Straße. A physical altercation during the apprehension resulted in the suspect sustaining head injuries. Police were subsequently called and recovered the stolen property from the suspect. They seized the items and transported the suspect to a hospital for inpatient treatment. The case is now being investigated by a specialized unit of Police Directorate 4 (South). The suspect remains in hospital, and the investigation continues. Police urge anyone with information to come forward.
