Car and multiple motorcycles set on fire in Berlin - Berlin Hunts Suspected Serial Arsonist After Three Vehicle Fires
Berlin authorities are investigating a series of suspected arson attacks on vehicles. No injuries were reported, but three incidents have left authorities on high alert.
In the early hours of Tuesday, two scooters were deliberately set on fire in quick succession in Berlin's Märkisches Viertel neighborhood. The flames from one of the scooters damaged a third. Later that night, a car was torched in Friedenau, causing damage to two additional vehicles. Authorities suspect arson in all three cases but have not determined if they are connected.
Investigations are ongoing, with a suspected serial arsonist, a 28-year-old man, previously arrested in Karlshorst for similar offenses. However, he was later released after forensic procedures. Other related attacks on police vehicles are under investigation by the political state protection unit, but no suspect has been named yet.
Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. The investigation into the suspected arson attacks continues, with no injuries reported but significant property damage caused.
