Berlin police arrest 24-year-old suspect in Schöneberg car burglary

A 24-year-old man was arrested in Berlin's Schöneberg district on suspicion of car burglary. The incident took place near the intersection of Steinmetzstraße and Bülowstraße just after 11 a.m. The local police have since launched an investigation into the matter.

Officers spotted the suspect allegedly tampering with a parked Renault Clio. When approached, he dropped the tool he was holding and was immediately taken into custody. The man was later transferred to Police Directorate 4 (South) for further questioning.

Authorities have not released details about similar cases in the area over the past year. Records from the Schöneberg police inspection show no publicly available data on comparable incidents between March 2025 and March 2026.

The investigation remains ongoing as police gather more evidence. The suspect is currently in custody while officers examine the circumstances of the alleged burglary. Further updates will depend on the outcome of the inquiry.
