Berlin police arrest man after brazen construction vehicle theft in Friedrichshain
A 32-year-old man has been arrested for stealing a construction vehicle in Berlin’s Friedrichshain district. The theft took place on December 2, 2024, with police apprehending the suspect the following day. The stolen machine, a wheel loader, was later recovered and returned to its owner.
The incident began at around 1:40 p.m. on December 2, when a 42-year-old man’s construction vehicle—a flatbed truck with a lifting platform—was taken from Massower Straße in Friedrichsfelde. The truck had been parked there for unloading building materials.
The suspect remains in police custody in connection with the theft and related offences. The construction vehicle, now recovered, has been handed back to its owner. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.
