Berlin Police, Authorities Team Up to Crack Down on Traffic Violations in March
In March, the State of Lower Austria and the Kuratorium für Verkehrssicherheit (KFV) collaborated to host 'Kinder Sicher Mobil' events, focusing on traffic safety. Meanwhile, the Berlin police and municipal authorities joined forces to tackle parking violations and dangerous driving habits.
The Berlin police recorded 691 vehicle relocations by the BVG last month. In a bid to improve traffic safety, they targeted 'danger zones at intersections' and carried out 539 targeted operations. Over 6,100 motor vehicles, 790 cyclists, and 77 pedestrians were stopped and checked. The police, municipal authorities, and BVG worked together to address parking violations, with over 61,415 reported and 3,416 vehicle relocations initiated.
The police also targeted the prohibited use of mobile phones by drivers, disregard of red lights, and vehicles using sidewalks. As a result, more than 5,500 traffic violation reports were issued. In addition to these efforts, around 953 events were held in March to prevent traffic accidents. These included the 'Blind Spot' campaign, which targeted truck drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.
The collaborative efforts of the State of Lower Austria, KFV, Berlin police, municipal authorities, and BVG have led to significant traffic safety initiatives in March. These include targeted operations, parking violation crackdowns, and public awareness campaigns. The results highlight the importance of such joint efforts in improving road safety.
