Berlin police car crashes while responding to emergency call in Adlershof
A police patrol car was involved in a traffic collision in Berlin’s Adlershof district on Tuesday afternoon. The crash took place at the intersection of Köpenicker Straße, Adlergestell, and Glienicker Weg around 3 p.m. Authorities have since launched an investigation into the incident.
The patrol car was responding to an emergency call at the time, with its lights and sirens activated. During the collision, the officer behind the wheel suffered injuries to his right shoulder and hand. The police vehicle itself was severely damaged and could not be driven away from the scene.
A 72-year-old driver was also involved in the accident but remained uninjured. The traffic accident investigation unit of Police Directorate 3 (East) is now gathering details to determine how the collision occurred.
The injured officer will receive medical attention for his shoulder and hand. Meanwhile, the damaged patrol car will require repairs before returning to service. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
