Berlin Police Cars Torched in Suspected Arson Attack
Berlin police are investigating a suspected arson attack that destroyed two unmarked police cars in the early hours of this morning. The incident occurred in a parking lot reserved for police vehicles on Kaiserdamm in Charlottenburg.
Witnesses spotted the fire around 1:30 a.m. It quickly spread to a second car and damaged a nearby parking meter. Authorities suspect arson and are considering a politically motivated attack. The Police Union (GdP) has condemned the act, stating that those who target police vehicles may one day require police assistance.
The identities of the suspects remain unknown. Three men were seen fleeing the scene, but no arrests have been made. The case has been taken over by the state security division of Berlin’s criminal investigation department (LKA).
The investigation into the suspected arson attack on the police cars is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the LKA. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting and supporting law enforcement.
