Berlin police detain three drunk men after gunfire reports in Prenzlauer Berg apartment
Police in Berlin detained three heavily intoxicated men after reports of gunfire in an apartment on Lilli-Henoch-Straße. The incident unfolded late yesterday evening in the Prenzlauer Berg district. Officers later seized weapons and ammunition from the scene.
Witnesses first alerted authorities at around 9:10 p.m., claiming to have heard gunshots coming from a flat. One person also reported seeing a man with a firearm on a 10th-floor balcony. Police quickly located the apartment and, after hearing further gunfire inside, entered with a search warrant.
Special operations officers arrested the three men, aged 63, 34, and 19. Inside the apartment, they found two starter pistols, ammunition, and several knives. The suspects were later released once their identities were confirmed.
The case has now been transferred to a specialised investigative unit at Police Directorate 1 (North). Investigators are examining potential charges related to narcotics trafficking in a non-significant quantity and extortionate extortion.
No injuries were reported during the incident. The seized weapons and ongoing investigation suggest further legal proceedings may follow. Authorities have not released additional details at this time.
