Berlin police detain three drunk men after late-night gunfire in Prenzlauer Berg apartment
Police in Berlin detained three heavily intoxicated men after reports of gunfire in Prenzlauer Berg late last night. The incident began when witnesses heard shots coming from an apartment on Lilli-Henoch-Straße just after 9:10 p.m. Officers later seized weapons and knives from the scene.
Multiple callers alerted authorities to gunfire from a high-rise building. A witness also claimed to have seen a man with a firearm on a 10th-floor balcony. Special operations officers quickly located the apartment and heard further gunshots before entering with a search warrant.
Inside, they found three men—aged 63, 34, and 19—all visibly intoxicated. The search uncovered two starter pistols, ammunition, and several knives. Despite the weapons, no serious injuries were reported.
After verifying their identities, police released all three men. The case has since been transferred to a specialist investigative unit at Police Directorate 1 (North) for further examination.
The investigation remains ongoing under the North Berlin police directorate. No additional details about the incident or its wider implications have been made public. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether charges will be filed.
