Berlin police detain woman after suspicious Kreuzberg break-in attempt
An attempted home break-in took place in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district on Tuesday afternoon. Police responded to a call from a 19-year-old resident on Ohlauer Straße around 2:30 PM. Officers later found a woman and a young girl in the building’s hallway under suspicious circumstances.
The incident began when the resident heard unusual noises at his apartment door. Concerned, he contacted the police immediately. Upon arrival, officers from Police Directorate 5’s specialised unit discovered a 27-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl in the corridor.
The investigation into the attempted break-in is ongoing. The 27-year-old suspect remains in custody, though her identity has not been released. The 13-year-old girl is currently receiving support from social services.
