The scene is likely related to the news that the German police have been arrested in Berlin.

Berlin Police Hunt Suspect in Violent Assault on Elderly Man

Berlin police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in a violent assault. The attack took place on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, inside a residential building on Bundesallee. Authorities have released surveillance pictures in hopes of gathering more information about the case (Reference: Case No. 2243).

The incident occurred at around 11:45 a.m. when the suspect followed a 70-year-old man into the building. Once inside, the attacker struck the victim in the head with a tool-like object. The victim’s condition has not been disclosed, but police are treating the case as a serious assault.

Investigators have now shared image search results of the suspect captured on CCTV. They are urging anyone with details about the man’s identity or whereabouts to come forward. The released footage shows the suspect clearly, though no further description has been provided. This appeal follows a separate operation in Neukölln on January 12, 2026, where two males—aged 17 and 19—were arrested for drug offences. However, police have confirmed these arrests are unrelated to the Bundesallee assault case.

The investigation into the October 2024 assault remains ongoing. Police continue to seek witnesses or individuals who may recognise the suspect from the published image search results. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact authorities directly, quoting Case No. 2243.
