Berlin police hunt two suspects after brutal subway robbery leaves man unconscious
Berlin's criminal police are hunting for two suspects after a violent robbery near Leopoldplatz station. The attack took place on 26 November 2023, leaving the victim unconscious and seriously injured. Authorities believe the suspects targeted the man after he left the U6 subway line that evening.
The incident began inside Leopoldplatz station when one of the suspects grabbed the victim's phone. A struggle broke out, escalating into a brutal assault. Both attackers repeatedly punched the man, knocking him unconscious and causing severe injuries to his face and hand.
While the victim lay helpless, the suspects stole his phone, wallet, and headphones before fleeing. Medical reports later confirmed he had suffered a torn tendon, a deep cut above his right eye, and a concussion.
Investigators suspect the pair had followed the man after he exited the station. The motive appears to be robbery, though no further details about the suspects or their whereabouts have been released.
The victim remains recovering from his injuries, which included facial trauma and a head injury. Police continue to appeal for witnesses or information that could lead to the arrest of the two suspects. No updates on surveillance footage or additional leads have been provided at this time.
