Berlin police nab two suspected car thieves after dramatic Grunewald chase
Two suspected car thieves were arrested in Berlin’s Grunewald district after breaking into a parked vehicle. A 25-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man were caught following a brief chase. Police believe the pair stole multiple cars and sold them illegally over time.
The incident began when plainclothes officers spotted the duo tampering with an Opel on a parking lot along Königsallee. After stealing items from the car, the suspects fled the scene. Police pursued and stopped their vehicle at the intersection of Königsallee and Hüttenweg.
The two remain in custody as investigations continue. Police are examining their possible links to other unsolved car thefts in the area. The stolen backpack and other evidence will be analysed as part of the case.
