Berlin police raid seven properties after massive S-Bahn graffiti attack
Federal Police have raided seven properties in Berlin and Brandenburg in connection with a large-scale graffiti attack on an S-Bahn carriage. The operation targeted seven male suspects, aged between 16 and 26, following an incident at Messe Süd station on October 30, 2025. Authorities seized evidence but released all suspects without charge after searches were completed.
The investigation began after a group of around ten people spray-painted a 40-square-metre section of an S-Bahn carriage at Messe Süd station. Officers later identified seven suspects, whose homes were searched on Wednesday morning under a warrant from the Tiergarten District Court.
During the raids, police confiscated graffiti supplies, electronic storage devices, sketches, and mobile phones. They also found pyrotechnics and a flare gun in one apartment. The 16-year-old suspect now faces additional scrutiny for potential violations of explosives and weapons laws. The suspects initially fled the scene in three vehicles. Police managed to stop one car and detained four occupants temporarily. Despite the searches and evidence gathered, all seven were released without charges being filed.
The case remains under investigation, with authorities examining the seized materials for further leads. The raids highlight ongoing efforts to address criminal damage on public transport. No further arrests have been reported at this time.
