Berlin scooter crash reveals drugs and knife after collision with car
A 37-year-old man on a scooter collided with a car in Berlin's Marienfelde district. The crash left him with a head injury and led to the discovery of drugs and a knife at the scene. Police have now launched an investigation into the incident.
The accident happened when the man, riding a scooter, was involved in a collision with a car. Emergency services arrived quickly and took him to hospital for outpatient treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening.
At the scene, officers found several bags of what appeared to be cocaine and marijuana. A knife was also recovered nearby. Due to suspicions of drug use, a blood sample was taken from the man.
Further checks revealed that he did not hold a valid driver's licence. The case has since been passed to the specialised investigations unit of Police Directorate 4 (South). No further details on the unit's ongoing work or any subsequent arrests have been released.
The man received medical care before being discharged. Police are examining the seized substances and the circumstances of the crash. The investigation remains active under the specialised unit.
