Illegal Gambling: Two Establishments Closed in Berlin - Berlin shuts down two bars over illegal gaming machines in IRS-led raid
Two bars in Berlin’s Reinickendorf district have been shut down after authorities uncovered illegal gaming machines. The closures followed a week-long crackdown involving multiple agencies, including the IRS. Ten venues across the district were inspected by regulatory authorities, tax officials, and police. The operation targeted compliance with licensing, tax, and public safety rules. Two establishments, owned by Youssef A. and Mustafa K., were found to have unlicensed gaming machines, which were immediately seized by investigators. Further checks also revealed breaches of non-smoking laws and youth protection regulations at the same locations. The two bars now face permanent closure unless they address the violations. Authorities have confirmed that further legal action against the owners remains possible. The seized machines will not be returned.
