Berlin Teen Escapes After Armed Attack in Reinickendorf Apartment
A 17-year-old boy was confronted by an armed man in Berlin’s Reinickendorf district early on Sunday morning. The incident escalated into an assault, leaving the teenager injured before he managed to escape and call for help. Police have since arrested a 27-year-old suspect in connection with the attack.
The attack began around 2:30 a.m. when the teenager was approached by an unknown man carrying a firearm. The assailant allegedly forced the youth to accompany him to his nearby apartment.
Once inside, the suspect restrained the victim, threatened him with a knife, and struck him on the head with a bottle. The teenager suffered abrasions to his head and arm but eventually broke free. He fled the scene and alerted the police, who took him to hospital for treatment before releasing him later that day.
Officers later arrested the 27-year-old suspect at the apartment. During a search, they recovered a firearm and clothing believed to belong to the victim. The man was taken into custody and subjected to forensic procedures, including a blood sample.
The case is now under investigation by the Directorate 1 (North) specialised unit. Authorities have not released the suspect’s name or further details about his background.
The teenager has since been discharged from hospital with minor injuries. Police continue to examine evidence, including the recovered firearm and clothing. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to establish the full circumstances of the attack.
