Restrictions Loom for Agency Hotline 115 - Berlin’s 115 help line faces cuts amid ongoing financial struggles

Berlin’s 115 government help line could see reductions in service due to financial strain. The hotline, which assists residents with administrative tasks, has faced funding issues since its original contract ended in 2022. Officials are now working to secure its future without major disruptions.

The help line currently helps people book appointments, register addresses, and access other public services. Operated by the IT Service Center (ITDZ), it has been running at a loss since the previous agreement expired two years ago. Despite this, a spokesperson for Martina Klement confirmed that the core service would remain intact.

The 115 help line will continue providing essential services, though some adjustments may be necessary. Authorities are still searching for a long-term solution to keep the hotline fully operational. For now, residents can still rely on it for key administrative needs.
