A100: Two tunnels closed at night - Restrictions from Monday - Berlin's A100 and A113 motorways face weeks of nighttime closures for urgent repairs
Major roadworks will disrupt traffic on Berlin's A100 and A113 motorways starting this week. Two tunnels on the southern A100 will undergo nighttime maintenance, while a section of the A113 will also close for repairs. Drivers should prepare for delays, particularly during late-night and early-morning hours.
From Monday, the Grenzallee Tunnel and the Britz district tunnel on the A100 will be partially closed for renovation. Work will take place overnight, between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., Monday to Friday. While exact details on the full duration of the project remain unclear, some closures—such as those in March for the Britz Tunnel—are expected to be short-term.
On the A113, the stretch between the Gradestraße/Oberlandstraße interchange and the Grenzallee and Späthstraße interchanges will also shut for maintenance. Additional technical upgrades are scheduled for October 25–28, 2025, but no complete timeline for all renovations has been provided.
Authorities have warned of inevitable delays, urging drivers to plan alternative routes or allow extra travel time during the affected periods.
The overnight closures will run from Monday to Friday, with no confirmed end date for the full renovation works. Motorists using the southern A100 and A113 should stay updated on traffic alerts to avoid congestion. Further details on long-term plans are expected to be announced at a later stage.
