Berlin's Fennpfuhl Rocked by Overnight Fires; Arson Suspected
Overnight, Berlin's Fennpfuhl district was hit by multiple fires, resulting in eight criminal complaints and significant property damage. A young man was arrested after attempting to extinguish a blaze with his bare hands, suffering burns to both hands but declining medical treatment.
The night began with a small car fire on Am Wasserwerk street at 4:00 a.m., swiftly extinguished by firefighters. Around an hour earlier, at 1:05 a.m., a scooter was found engulfed in flames on Karl-Lade-Straße. Firefighters arrived to control the blaze. Later, a burning portable toilet cabin was reported on Landsberger Allee and was quickly brought under control.
At approximately 1:55 a.m., three trash bins were ablaze in a supermarket parking lot on Paul-Junius-Straße. Two more burning vehicles were reported on the same street, both completely destroyed but extinguished at the scene. The intense heat from the fires also damaged two nearby cars. The search for the person injured and arrested at the fire at Anton-Saefkow-Platz remains ongoing, as the name has not been provided in the search results.
In total, eight criminal complaints were filed, including three for arson involving motor vehicles and five for criminal damage by fire.
