Berlin’s Glider Quarter to deliver 1,800 new houses by 2030

Berlin’s Glider Quarter is shaping up to be one of the city’s largest development projects. Planned for completion between 2029 and 2030, the site will feature around 1,800 houses alongside commercial space and social infrastructure. The initiative involves multiple partners, including the State of Berlin and housing provider degewo.

The project sits near Adlershof Technology Park, a key hub for science and business in the city. Developers aim to create a mixed-use area with houses, a daycare centre, and other community facilities.

Once finished, the Glider Quarter will add significant housing and amenities to Johannisthal. The mix of subsidised and market-rate houses aims to support diverse residents. The project’s timeline aligns with Berlin’s ongoing urban growth plans.
