Berlin's Homeless Christmas Party Serves Roast Goose Despite Avian Flu Outbreak
Despite the recent bird flu outbreak, the annual Christmas party for the homeless and needy in Berlin will still serve roast goose. Organised by Berlin entertainer Frank Zander, the event expects around 2,500 guests on December 22 at the Estrel Hotel. However, there's no information about the poultry farm in Kremmen that supplied the geese.
The bird flu outbreak led to the culling of around 5,000 free-range geese and 3,600 ducks from Spargelhof Kremmen. Among them was Frank Zander's beloved goose, Erna, who he had 'pardoned' in 2018. Despite the increased costs due to the outbreak, roast goose will be served at the Christmas party. Zander's generosity ensures that the tradition continues, providing a hearty meal for those in need.
The party, held at the Estrel Hotel, will welcome guests from across Berlin. It's a testament to Zander's commitment to supporting the homeless community, a cause he has championed for many years.
The Christmas party for the homeless and needy in Berlin will proceed as planned, offering a festive meal despite the challenges posed by the bird flu outbreak. Frank Zander's dedication to this tradition ensures that those in need can enjoy a special Christmas meal, a symbol of hope and kindness during the holiday season.
