Hotel and Bowling Alley - RBB Sells Property on Kaiserdamm - Berlin's iconic Kaiserdamm commercial hub hits the market after decades
A well-known commercial structure on Berlin's Kaiserdamm is going up for sale. The property, owned by rbb media GmbH, has housed a mix of businesses for decades. The company announced the decision today, March 9, 2026, without revealing the expected price.
The building dates back to the 1960s and has long served as a commercial center. Originally used by SFB Werbung, it later became part of rbb media's operations. Inside, tenants currently include a hotel, office and storage spaces, and a bowling alley.
Plans to sell were set in motion last year. A major factor was the high cost of renovating or redeveloping the site. Anja Mellage, managing director of rbb media GmbH, noted that running a hotel no longer fits the company's core business.
As a fully owned subsidiary of Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB), rbb media GmbH confirmed this sale will end its involvement in real estate. So far, no potential buyers or investors have come forward, as the process was only made public today.
The sale will remove the property from rbb media's portfolio. The company will now focus on its main media-related activities. The future of the building—and its current tenants—remains unclear until a buyer is found.
