Berlin's Lichtenberg Welcomes 300+ New Student Homes by 2026

A new student housing development is taking shape in Berlin's Lichtenberg district. The project at 220 Storkower Straße will offer more than 300 compact living spaces once complete. Designed for practicality and comfort, it aims to ease the city's demand for affordable student accommodation. The site on Storkower Straße already shows visible progress, with parts of the exterior nearing completion. The building is scheduled for finalisation by mid-2026, with students expected to move in by June that year.

Inside, the development will house around 240 studio apartments, each featuring a kitchenette and private bathroom. Shared facilities will include laundry rooms, bicycle parking, and communal areas like study zones and lounges. A rooftop terrace will also provide additional space for residents to relax. The location benefits from strong transport connections. The nearby S-Bahn station, also named Storkower Straße, links directly to the city's ring line, making travel quick and convenient for students commuting to universities or work.

Once finished, the project will add over 300 student housing units to Berlin's market. The mix of private studios and shared amenities is tailored to meet the needs of young residents. With completion set for 2026, the development will contribute to the city's ongoing efforts to expand affordable living options.
