Berlin’s Maybachufer to gain 120 energy-efficient apartments by 2025

Berlin-based developer 15Degree is set to begin work on a new mixed-use residential building at Maybachufer. The project, planned in partnership with Matter Real Estate, will replace an existing Aldi Nord supermarket and parking deck with 120 rental apartments and a grocery store. Construction is expected to start before the end of the year.

The new development will cover around 11,000 square metres of gross floor area. It will meet the KfW 40 energy efficiency standard and aim for QNG certification, ensuring high sustainability levels. Some of the apartments will fall under rent control to accommodate different income groups.

The Maybachufer project will add much-needed housing to Berlin while maintaining energy-efficient standards. Once completed, it will provide both residential units and retail space. The collaboration between 15Degree, Matter Real Estate, and Goldbeck marks another step in the city’s ongoing development.
