Berlin’s ‘NEST’ project redefines sustainable living in Weißensee by 2027

A new residential development, 'NEST', is set to transform Berlin's Pankow district of Weißensee by 2027. The project, a collaboration between Hines Immobilien GmbH and Knerer und Lang Architekten, will offer 147 rental units ranging from compact studios to spacious four-bedroom apartments, spread across four buildings.

The 'NEST' development will provide approximately 9,000 square meters of rental space, with small-scale commercial units on the ground level set to enhance local amenities.

Construction is scheduled to commence in 2025, with the project aiming to foster a sense of community and meet rigorous sustainability standards. The development will adhere to the KfW Efficiency House 40 standard and the EU Taxonomy's sustainability criteria. The ground floors will feature communal areas, including an indoor playground and multifunctional rooms, designed to encourage social interaction.

The 'NEST' development is expected to welcome its first residents by 2027, offering 147 households a place to call home. With its focus on sustainability and community, this new residential quarter promises to be an exciting addition to Berlin's Weißensee district.
