Berlin's Neukölln Gets Innovative, Sustainable Workspace: 'Inspire Neukölln'
Berlin's Neukölln district is set to welcome an innovative, sustainable workspace project called 'Inspire Neukölln'. This ambitious venture aims to redefine urban workspaces with a massive 30,000 square meter gross floor area and a green energy supply.
The project, designed around classic Berlin commercial courtyard architecture, boasts a striking blue-green ceramic facade and high ceilings. It consists of two interlocking, six-story buildings that will house up to 2,000 workplaces, catering to a variety of businesses from start-ups to manufacturing companies.
Inspire Neukölln is committed to sustainability, aiming for DGNB platinum certification and KfW Efficiency House 55 EE standards. It incorporates green roofs, rainwater harvesting, and a completely fossil-free energy supply via air-water heat pumps and heating and cooling ceilings. The project also features bike rooms, showers, electric vehicle charging stations, and around 150 bike parking spaces, promoting free commuting.
The inner courtyards are landscaped with green areas, seating, and lounges, ensuring a pleasant stay for occupants. A cafeteria is also included to provide dining options. Despite the demand for such spaces outside the city center remaining to be seen, the project hopes to serve as a model for combining climate-friendliness and modern architecture.
The 'Inspire Neukölln' project is set to transform the Neukölln district with its sustainable, innovative workspace design. With its focus on green energy, free commuting options, it aims to set new standards for urban workspaces and serve as a model for future developments.
