Berlin’s New Car-Sharing Van Solves Big Moves for Students and Pros

Free2move has launched a new car-sharing service in Berlin, targeting young professionals and students who move frequently. The pilot scheme introduces the Opel Movano XL, a large van designed for flexible transport needs like DIY moves, events, or bulk shopping. Users can now book the vehicle entirely through the Free2move app.

The Opel Movano L2H2 offers generous cargo space, with up to 17 cubic metres of room and a two-ton payload capacity. It can also tow trailers weighing up to three tons, making it ideal for heavy or bulky loads. Unlike smaller car-sharing options, the van is charged by the hour or at a daily rate of €99.99.

The Opel Movano XL provides an alternative for those needing temporary cargo transport without owning a vehicle. With bookings managed via the Free2move app, the service offers convenience alongside capacity. If the pilot proves successful, more cities could see the vans added to their car-sharing options.
