Where Parking in Berlin Will No Longer Be Free Starting December - Berlin’s paid parking expansion targets two crowded districts in December

Berlin is set to expand paid parking zones in two busy districts from December 1. The new rules will affect parts of Neukölln and Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. Officials hope the changes will cut down on traffic and ease parking shortages in residential areas.

Starting on December 1, drivers in six new zones (126 to 131) in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf will need to pay for parking. These areas cover streets around Kurfürstendamm, Lietzensee, and Kaiserdamm. The cost will be roughly 50 cents for every 15 minutes.

The expanded parking zones will bring stricter controls to both districts. Residents and visitors will need to pay or obtain permits to park legally. Authorities believe the changes will help manage congestion in these crowded neighbourhoods.
