Berlin's Prison Career Fair Opens Doors to Future Corrections Officers on May 30
Berlin's Prison Service Career Fair (#PrisonCareers) will open its doors on May 30, 2026. The event, free and open to the public, takes place at Heidering Prison (JVA Heidering) from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Attendees can explore career advice opportunities within the city's correctional system and judicial social services.
The fair will showcase a range of professions in Berlin's prison administration. Visitors can engage in hands-on activities, including a search for hidden items inside a replica prison cell. On-site applications for the general corrections service will also be accepted at the Prison Service Training Academy.
Entry requires a valid photo ID. Security rules restrict bags larger than A5 size. Children under 14 are not permitted, while those aged 15 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
The event provides direct access to career advice and practical experiences. Those interested in corrections or judicial social work can apply on the spot. The fair runs for eight hours, offering ample time for exploration and questions.
