The 'Spreeduett' residential quarter in Spindlersfeld, Berlin, is nearing completion after several years of planning and construction. The project, which began in 2021, is scheduled to be finished in 2026 and has faced challenges in expanding the surrounding infrastructure.
The 'Spreeduett' quarter is being built on the site of a former industrial area, directly on the Spree. Around 500 apartments are being constructed on the approximately 24,300 square meter area, spread across several construction fields. The new buildings adopt the formal language and materials of the surrounding area, using red facade bricks to recall the historic industrial architecture of the site. The design of outdoor spaces plays a central role in the overall concept, with large green areas, paths, playgrounds, and greened flat roofs.
The 'Spreeduett' project is an important contribution to relieving the housing market in Treptow-Köpenick, particularly for families. It is entering its final phase, with almost all buildings erected and many apartments occupied.
