Berlin’s U-Bahn adjusts night service for federal holidays in 2025
Berlin's U-Bahn, operated by Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), has been serving the city since 1902. It's a vital part of the public transport system, with tickets valid on the S-Bahn, buses, and trams.
The U-Bahn network spans 155 kilometers, covering 9 lines and 175 stations. During peak hours, trains arrive every 5 minutes, and every 10 minutes in the evening. On weekdays, most lines operate from around 4:00 AM to 1:00 AM the next day.
Tickets can be bought from vending machines on platforms or at ticket counters in major stations. However, during weekends and federal holidays 2025, the U-Bahn does not run a regular night service. Instead, night buses replace it from around 1:00 AM to 4:30 AM, operating every 30 minutes from Monday to Thursday. On Friday and Saturday nights, as well as the evenings before federal holidays 2025, both U-Bahn and S-Bahn run all night with continuous service.
The U-Bahn is a crucial part of Berlin's transport system, offering extensive coverage and frequent service during peak hours. Its night service, though limited on weekends and federal holidays 2025, ensures passengers have options for late-night travel.
