Robbery Homicide in Friedenau - Police Continue Search for Suspect - Berlin's Unsolved Murder: Killer Still at Large After Two Years

A 62-year-old social worker was murdered near Friedenau S-Bahn station in Berlin over two years ago. The killer remains at large, despite an extensive police investigation and a €5,000 reward for information.

The attack took place on January 16, 2024, when the victim was violently assaulted near the station. She suffered severe head injuries and later died in hospital, despite undergoing emergency surgery. Authorities believe robbery was the motive.

Since then, Berlin police have used multiple methods to track down the perpetrator. These include video surveillance analysis, facial recognition software, and DNA phenotyping. They have also searched genetic genealogy databases, triangulated mobile phone data, and followed up on public tips via a hotline. Over 100 leads have been investigated, but none have led to an arrest.

In April 2024, a €5,000 reward was offered for information leading to the killer's capture. Despite these efforts, the case remains unsolved as of March 2026.

The investigation continues, with no arrests made so far. Police have exhausted multiple advanced techniques, but the perpetrator has not been identified. The reward for information remains active.
