Bernard Arnault's $650M Megayacht Will Redefine Luxury at Sea
Bernard Arnault, one of the world's wealthiest individuals, has commissioned a new megayacht worth an estimated $650 million. The vessel, currently under construction in the Netherlands, is set to become one of the largest private yachts ever built once completed in the coming years. The megayacht will stretch 470 feet in length, significantly longer than Jeff Bezos' 417-foot Koru. With a gross tonnage of between 10,000 and 12,000 GT, it will also feature at least two additional decks compared to Arnault's previous yacht, Symphony. That vessel, launched in 2015, was itself one of the largest of its generation.
Dutch shipbuilder Feadship is handling the project. No other megayacht over 400 feet has been ordered or completed since 2020, making this an exceptional undertaking. Arnault has two options for *Symphony*: repurpose it as a support vessel for the new yacht, following the example of billionaire Gabe Newell, or sell it outright, as Lawrence Stroll did with his own yachts. The new megayacht is designed to stand out on the water. Its sheer size and scale will set it apart from any existing private vessel.
Once finished, the megayacht will rank among the largest in the world. Its construction reflects Arnault's continued investment in luxury maritime assets. The vessel's completion will mark a rare addition to the elite class of superyachts over 450 feet.
