Bihar Elections: JD(U) & BJP Announce Candidates, Reveal Key Changes
In a significant development ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) has announced its candidates for several constituencies. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its first list of 71 candidates, revealing key changes and retaining some seats.
The JD(U) has replaced senior leader Nand Kishore Yadav with Ratnesh Kushwaha as its candidate for Patna Sahib. Other candidates include Gayatri Devi for Parihar, Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu for Chhatapur, and Dr Prem Kumar for Gaya Town. The party is contesting the election to the 243-member Bihar Assembly in Siwan.
The BJP, on the other hand, has retained several seats while making changes in others. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary will contest from Tarapur. The party has retained the Hisua seat, re-nominating Anil Kumar. Prem Kumar will contest from Gaya, while senior BJP leader Ram Kripal Yadav has been fielded from Danapur. Bihar Minister for Animal and Fisheries Resources Renu Devi will contest from Bettiah. Other candidates include Alok Ranjan Jha from Saharsa, Mangal Pandey from Siwan, and former Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad from Katihar.
The JD(U) and BJP have announced their candidates for key constituencies in Bihar, setting the stage for the upcoming Assembly elections. These announcements indicate the parties' strategies and preparations for the crucial polls.
