Bipartisan push to modernize America’s aging power grid gains momentum

Energy advocates, including Grid Action and Conservative Energy Network, are currently engaging with 30 congressional offices. They aim to bolster support for legislation that fortifies the nation's aging power grid.

The meetings come as Democrats push for simplified power line construction to facilitate clean energy, while Republicans emphasise states' rights and cost considerations. Grid Action, a leading voice in this effort, is pressuring lawmakers to back grid-strengthening laws, despite not having an explicitly named spokesperson.

Both sides are seeking a bipartisan compromise on transmission and permitting policies. Energy advocates are actively lobbying Congress to achieve this common goal.

The ongoing discussions between energy advocates and congressional offices signal a collective effort to enhance the nation's electric grid. Finding a bipartisan solution on transmission and permitting policies remains a key objective.
