Blue Angels Cancelled: U.S. Senate Budget Deadlock Halts Air Show Performance
The U.S. Senate's failure to approve a budget has led to the cancellation of the Blue Angels' performance this weekend at the Wings Over North Georgia Air Show in Rome. All current ticket holders will receive a discount code for another air show in Rome at a future date as compensation.
The cancellation follows the Republican Party's rejection of the stopgap funding bill in the last ten votes in the US Senate. They opposed the bill due to concerns over government spending and the inclusion of provisions they disagreed with. Despite the Blue Angels' absence, the air show will continue with civilian performers from Friday through Sunday at the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport.
The 2025 Wings Over North Georgia Air Show will proceed without the Blue Angels, who are unable to perform due to the federal government shutdown. Ticket holders should look out for their discount codes for a future air show in Rome.
