BMW Driver Suspected of Drugged Driving Injures 7 in Berlin
A BMW driver, suspected to be under the influence of drugs, caused a serious incident in Berlin-Wedding on Thursday afternoon. The 20-year-old driver ran a red light and hit a group of people, injuring seven, including four eight-year-old children. The accident occurred around 12:50 PM on the Dohnagestell. The driver, who has not been publicly named, was found to have a large amount of narcotics, suspected to be marijuana, in the car. Police assume the driver was impaired by drugs at the time of the incident. The collision injured seven people in total. Alongside the four eight-year-old children, two 11-year-old children and a 63-year-old supervisor were also hurt. Rescue services treated five people at the scene and took three to the hospital for outpatient treatment. The driver's license was seized following the incident. No further details about the driver or the victims have been released. Investigations are ongoing.
