BNP-BJP Clash in Bhola: 45 Injured, Including Police Officer
Bhola district town witnessed a clash between Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) activists near New Market. The incident left at least 45 people, including a police officer, injured. Four crude bombs exploded during the skirmish.
The incident occurred when a BNP procession, led by a faction that deviated from their designated route, approached the BJP's district office during a BJP rally. Despite police allowing both parties to hold processions on separate routes, a clash ensued. BJP leaders reported that four motorcycles and office furniture were vandalized during the altercation.
BNP activists were urged to avoid confrontation, but tensions escalated, resulting in injuries to at least 45 people. Around 45 individuals were admitted to hospitals or received primary treatment. The leader of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party in Bhola, Ruhul Amin, was involved in the incident.
The clash between BNP and BJP activists in Bhola district town highlights the need for better crowd management and adherence to designated routes during political processions. Authorities must ensure such incidents are prevented in the future.
