BNP honors Ziaur Rahman’s 90th birth anniversary with nationwide tributes in January

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will mark the 90th birth anniversary of its founder, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, with a two-day programme starting in January. Events will take place across the country, including discussions, prayers, and tributes at his mausoleum. Party leaders and allied organizations have coordinated the observance under the guidance of acting chairperson Khondkar Mosaraf Hossain.

The commemorations will begin on January 19 with BNP flags hoisted at the party’s central office and all local branches. At 11:00 AM, leaders and supporters will gather at Ziaur Rahman’s mausoleum to lay wreaths and offer Fatiha.

A discussion programme has been scheduled for January 20 at the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) auditorium in Kakrail. Dua mahfils (prayer gatherings) will also be held nationwide, organized by BNP and its affiliated groups.

As part of the anniversary activities, the Doctors' Association of Bangladesh will set up a medical camp. The events follow coordination by Khondkar Mosaraf Hossain, who ensured preparations were made across the country for the January 18–19 observance.

The two-day programme honours Ziaur Rahman’s legacy through tributes, discussions, and public services. Party offices, supporters, and allied organizations will participate in the events, which include both ceremonial and community-focused activities.
