BNP Secretary General Calls for Urgent Education Reform, Pledges Solidarity with Hindu Community

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir recently addressed the Hindu community on Diwali, extending greetings and pledging solidarity. In a separate event, he critiqued the country's education department and proposed reforms.

Fakhrul, addressing the Hindu community, condemned attempts to divide the nation and warned against harassing minority groups. He reaffirmed the BNP's commitment to stand with the Hindu community and build a 'Rainbow State' by 2030.

Turning to education, Fakhrul described it as 'extremely low quality'. He noted that the country is in a transitional phase marked by instability and generational differences, particularly with Generation Z. He called for a greater emphasis on technical education to ensure employment opportunities for the youth.

Fakhrul proposed restructuring the education department. He suggested offering higher education to the most talented students and vocational training to the majority. He blamed politicians and the bureaucracy for the longstanding neglect of education in Bangladesh. He highlighted the ongoing teachers' protests over pay hike issues and stressed the need for a more strategic approach to education.
