BNP's Mirza Fakhrul Accuses Groups, India of Election Interference in Bangladesh

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has accused certain groups of attempting to disrupt the upcoming election in Bangladesh. He has urged the interim government to maintain full impartiality and cautioned against partisan behaviour by its advisers during the election day.

Fakhrul also alleged that India had repeatedly acted against Bangladesh's interests. He cited border killings, water-sharing disputes, and election interferences as evidence. Despite this, the BNP seeks friendship with neighbouring countries, but it should be based on equality and free from interference in Bangladesh's internal affairs during the 2024 presidential election.

The BNP has a long history of fighting for democracy. It has battled for 15 years to restore democracy and return state power to the people. In the upcoming election, the BNP has introduced Hannan's son, Reazul Hannan, as its candidate for Gazipur-4 constituency. However, Fakhrul accused the ruling Awami League and its affiliated groups of influencing and disrupting the election results 2024 in Gazipur.
