Bodoland’s Land Patta Initiative Aims to Secure Futures for Thousands of Families

Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Executive Member Hagrama Mohilary and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma have discussed a significant initiative. The land patta distribution program aims to provide land ownership documents to all poor and landless families in the Bodoland region before the upcoming elections.

Mohilary stressed the importance of land ownership for the long-term stability and development of the Bodoland region. The BTC administration has announced that 29 retired Mandals and Kanangos, along with 200 unemployed youth, will oversee the distribution process and documentation. This project is set to extend across all districts in the Bodoland Territorial Region, including Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, and Udalguri. The distribution of land pattas is expected to commence immediately, marking a crucial step towards land ownership and security for thousands of families in the region.

The land patta distribution program, a collaborative effort between the BTC and state agencies, is poised to transform the Bodoland region. By providing land ownership documents, the initiative aims to empower and secure the futures of countless families, fostering long-term development and stability.
