Body of missing Maine woman Rebecca Dorr found in Brunswick woods
The body of 56-year-old Rebecca Dorr has been discovered in a wooded area near walking trails in Brunswick, Maine. She had been missing since January 25, 2026, when she was last seen leaving her home in the afternoon.
Dorr's disappearance marked the second time in months that she had gone missing. The first incident occurred on August 18, 2025, when she vanished for three days before being found. Authorities had previously suggested that mental health struggles may have played a role in her behaviour.
The recent search for Dorr did not uncover any evidence of prolonged isolation or contact avoidance with relatives or officials. Investigators have now confirmed that her death is not being treated as suspicious.
The case has been closed with no signs of foul play. Local authorities have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding her death. Dorr's family has been notified of the findings.
