Boiler systems are being reactivated in Bremen, revolving around the city's crew.

All 146 passengers and crew members aboard a Sundair Airbus A319 (registration 9A-BER) bound for Palma de Mallorca had an unexpected landing at Bremen Airport on Saturday morning, July 12, 2025.

The incident occurred shortly after takeoff when the crew noticed a slight buildup of steam on board[3]. Investigations revealed that the cause was residual moisture inside one of the engines, which had been washed the previous day[4].

Upon landing, all passengers and crew members disembarked the aircraft safely. Medical assistance was offered, but it was not required[5]. A replacement aircraft had already landed in Bremen to continue the journey, ensuring minimal disruption to the passengers' travel plans[6].

Sundair has confirmed that the aircraft, which was operated by the airline, returned to the airport as a precautionary measure[7]. The flight, identified as SR-2888, was scheduled to depart from Bremen Airport at 7:00 AM and had been en route to Palma de Mallorca.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety measures and precautions in aviation, ensuring the well-being of all passengers and crew members. Sundair has not released any further statements regarding the incident at the time of writing.
