Bonprix Welcomes New CMO as CEO Torben Hansen Departs

Bonprix is set to welcome a new face to its management board. Dr. Nicolai Johannsen will join as chief marketing officer (CMO) from January 2026, following the departure of Torben Hansen. Until then, the remaining board members will share Hansen's responsibilities.

Hansen, who took the helm as CEO in spring 2024, will leave his post on October 31, 2025. His tenure saw him oversee brand and content, digital marketing, European sales management, and people and organisation departments. His departure is due to differing views on the company's strategic direction.

Johannsen, who has been with the Otto Group since 2011, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has held various positions, including vice president of sales and vice president of consumer interactions. Marcus Ackermann, Otto Group executive board member for multichannel distance selling, expressed confidence in Johannsen's appointment.

With Hansen's departure, the Bonprix Group will be managed equally by four managing directors, with Johannsen taking over responsibility for sales. The CEO position will not be filled immediately, and the remaining board members - Carolin Klar, Matthias Wlaka, and Kai Heck - will share Hansen's responsibilities until Johannsen's appointment.
